Layers of juicy beef patties, melted cheddar cheese, and buttery grilled bread come together in this over-the-top burger masterpiece. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and loaded with cheesy goodness!

For the Beef Patties
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
For Assembly
- 8 slices cheddar cheese ๐ง
- 8 slices thick-cut bread (Texas toast or sourdough) ๐
- 4 tbsp butter, softened ๐ง
- Optional: caramelized onions

- Optional: burger sauce

1. Prepare the Patties
- Divide beef into 4 equal portions.
- Gently form into patties slightly larger than the bread.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
2. Cook the Patties
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Cook patties for 3โ4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.
- During the last minute, top each patty with 2 slices of cheddar cheese and allow it to melt.
3. Toast the Bread
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Grill in a skillet until golden brown and crispy.
4. Build the Stack
- Place one slice of toasted bread on a plate.
- Add a cheesy beef patty.
- Add onions or pickles if desired.
- Top with another slice of toasted bread.
- Repeat for a towering double-stack burger melt.
5. Serve
- Slice in half and serve immediately while the cheese is hot and gooey.
