🥐 Puff Pastry Sausage & Cheese (Easy Appetizer)
This is one of the easiest and most delicious appetizers you can make! Buttery, flaky puff pastry wrapped around juicy sausage and melty cheese—perfect for parties, snacks, or quick gatherings.
🛒 Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 4–6 sausages (beef, chicken, or turkey)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 teaspoon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Prepare the Pastry
Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
Cut it into rectangles or strips depending on the size you want.
3️⃣ Assemble
Place a sausage at one end of each pastry strip.
Add a small amount of shredded cheese on top (and mustard if using).
Roll the pastry tightly around the sausage.
Seal the edges by pressing gently.
4️⃣ Egg Wash
Beat the egg and brush it over each roll.
This gives a golden, shiny finish.
5️⃣ Bake
Place on the tray and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
