ππ― Honey Wheat Bread
π Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1β1Β½ cups all-purpose flour (for softness)
- 1 cup warm water (not hot)
- 2 tbsp honey π―
- 2 tbsp butter (melted) or oil
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tsp salt
π¨βπ³ Instructions:
1. Activate Yeast
- In a bowl, mix warm water + honey.
- Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5β10 minutes until foamy.
2. Make Dough
- Add melted butter and salt.
- Stir in whole wheat flour.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour until a soft dough forms.
3. Knead
- Knead for about 8β10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. First Rise
- Place dough in a greased bowl.
- Cover and let rise for 1β1.5 hours until doubled.
5. Shape
- Punch down dough and shape into a loaf.
- Place in a greased loaf pan.
6. Second Rise
- Let it rise again for 30β45 minutes.
7. Bake
- Bake at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 25β30 minutes until golden brown.
8. Finish
- Brush with a little butter or honey for a soft, shiny crust.
