🍫 Creamy Chocolate Ice Cream
Instructions
1️⃣ Mix the dry ingredients
In a saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt.
2️⃣ Add the milk
Slowly pour in the whole milk, whisking continuously to remove any lumps.
3️⃣ Cook the mixture
Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook while stirring until the mixture begins to thicken slightly (about 4–5 minutes).
4️⃣ Add the chocolate
Stir in the chopped dark chocolate and continue stirring until it is completely melted and smooth.
5️⃣ Add the cream and vanilla
Remove from heat and mix in the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
6️⃣ Cool the mixture
Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for 2–3 hours until very cold.
7️⃣ Churn or freeze
- Ice cream maker: Churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- No ice cream maker: Pour into a freezer container and freeze, stirring every 30–45 minutes for about 3–4 hours to keep it creamy.
8️⃣ Serve
Scoop into bowls and enjoy your rich, creamy homemade chocolate ice cream! 🍨🍫
